2017 Track and Field High School Season

03/01/2017, I was the Throws Coach for Bishop Manogue High School. With three and one half weeks left in the season, I was asked if I could teach a Sophmore Volleyball/Basketball female athlete how to throw Shot Put and Discus.

I asked the athlete if she had thrown the implements before and she said, 'no.'  Because she also did triple jump, she was able to train with me two to three partial times a week.

In her first meet she placed second in Shot Put. During the conference meet, she placed third in Shot Put and seventh in discus earning the team 6 points.

The girls won the conference title. Her effort also qualified her for Regionals. At Regionals, she improved her Shot Put mark from 31.2 to 34.2 which is a three foot improvement in one week, placing fourth, missing state by one place.

She was named to the Northern Nevada 4A All Region Second Team in Shot Put. GREAT JOB!

A freshman placed second place in the Shot Put at the Junior Varsity Championships for the Girls, which was the last meet for non-varsity

Another freshman placed third in the Shot Put and Discus at the Junior Varsity Championships for the Boys, last meet for non-varsity.

Cassidy-- Recipient of a Full Ride College Scholarship to the University Of Nevada Las Vegas

This year I had the pleasure of being able to assist with coaching  for a thrower named Cassidy. She finished the season first in Shot Put and Discus in the state of Nevada and received a full ride scholarship to UNLV.

Here is what she had to say:

" The training Coach Eddings provided was invaluable in  assisting me to correct my form in Shot Put and Discus. Coach Eddings provided the requisite direction but also allowed my input in the training process."
